What is T.W.I.S.T.?
T.W.I.S.T. is the study association for linguistics in Leiden. For over twenty years, we’ve been organising activities for our members that allow them to add more depth to their study and meet fellow students along the way. Some of our annual events are the study trip abroad, the T.W.I.S.T. Student Conference, and the Talengala. We also organise lectures, movie nights, game nights, borrels, and much more! Of course, we don’t do all of this by ourselves, but we are assisted by the fantastic members of our committees.
A T.W.I.S.T. membership will allow you to get to know your fellow students, as well as others who are interested in language. You will receive our magazine (the TWISTER) four times a year and will get to participate in the wide variety of activities our board and committees have to offer; maybe you’ll even join one yourself! You will also get to vote in the general assemblies. Most of all, you will make friends and have a lot of fun at T.W.I.S.T.!

It is once again time for the PromeTWean DicTWation together with student-association Prometheus! We will do our best to challenge you with the most complex linguistic constructions we can think of. So brush off your language skills and join us on this night to test your knowledge of obscure vocabulary. You can choose to do the dictation in either English or Dutch. The winners of both dictations win a special prize!
The event will take place on May 13th at 17:15 in Lipsius 2.28 (for Dutch) and 1.23 (for English). See you there!

Study Association Babel (Utrecht) would like to invite you to the LANGU-Day on the 16th of May.
We want to welcome you to the gorgeous city of Utrecht. We're very excited to be hosting this lovely event and we will do our best to give you an unforgettable day!
You're welcome in Utrecht Centraal at 12.00 and at 13.30 the program will start in Utrecht University (Janskerkhof 15A - 0.04) with lectures by Prof.Dr. Roberta D’Alessandro and Dr. Hanna De Vries. Poster-Presentations will start at 15:20 (location TBA). The day will also include a lunch and a city tour! At the end of the day we would like to get drinks/dinner with whoever feels like it. The costs for this day will be at 5 euros per person. This is for the whole day, except for drinks/dinner.

Linguistics Career Day

The Linguistics Career Day is coming up! On May 31st the linguistics-associations of Nijmegen, Utrecht, Leiden and Amsterdam will come together to listen to various talks by linguistics-alumni about their careers after their study! This year, the place where this event will be hosted is the Lipsius Building in Leiden. Join us for a day of talks, workshops and hopefully good vibes, to learn about how YOUR career might look once you finish your studies. Lunch is included, and dinner will be optionally provided at a small price.
