This year marks the 13th edition of the T.W.I.S.T. Conference and again it promises to be spectacular. This year’s theme is ‘Discover the World through Language’, about how studying language aids us in learning about people, culture, and history. We proudly present this year’s keynote speakers: Michäel Peyrot, Eugénie Stapert, Maaike van Naerssen, and Jenneke van der Wal. The conference will be on the 12th and 13th of April in the Lipsius building. For more information, please visit our Facebook page or immediately buy your tickets here.
Interested in the options after obtaining a degree in Linguistics? On June 2, T.W.I.S.T., VOS and Babel, study associations of linguistics of Leiden, Amsterdam and Utrecht, will organise the very first LUF-Linguistics Career Day (sponsored by the LUF). This event will feature linguistics alumni talking about their career path after graduation. You will also find several companies that are interested in having linguists on their team.
The afternoon will be divided into three rounds during which individual presentations take place and one round to visit the information market. The day will end with the opportunity to expand your network while having a drink.
Tomorrow is the last day to get your Early Bird ticket for the T.W.I.S.T. Student Conference in Linguistics! The conference takes place on the 13th and 14th of April, 2018.

The T.W.I.S.T. Conference is organized by T.W.I.S.T., the students’ society for Linguistics students at Leiden University. Each year, it provides a truly academic yet open and informal platform for undergraduate (BA), graduate (MA) and postgraduate (PhD) students to present their original research to fellow students and researchers from all over The Netherlands (and abroad!). With 4 keynote lectures and many more student talks, we strive to bring together students interested in language from the most diverse research fields and subdisciplines.
