Wat is TWIST?
TWIST is de studievereniging van taalwetenschap te Leiden. Al ruim twintig jaar organiseren we activiteiten voor onze leden die niet alleen hun studie verbreden maar het ook mogelijk maken om medestudenten beter te leren kennen. Jaarlijkse evenementen zijn de VakanCie-buitenlandreis, het TWIST Student Conference en het Talengala. Daarnaast organiseren we lezingen, filmavonden, spelletjesavonden, borrels en nog veel meer! Uiteraard doen we dat niet allemaal zelf: we worden geholpen door de fantastische leden die in onze commissies zitten.
Een lidmaatschap bij TWIST geeft je de mogelijkheid om je medestudenten te leren kennen, maar ook veel anderen die geïnteresseerd zijn in taal. Je ontvangt vier keer per jaar ons verenigingsblad (de TWISTER) en kunt deelnemen aan alle activiteiten die het bestuur en de commissies organiseren. Je mag ook stemmen bij de Algemene Ledenvergadering en zelf lid worden van een commissie. Als lid van TWIST zul je vooral veel vrienden maken en gewoon een hele leuke tijd hebben!

The ☉ Trivia night will quiz you on a wide variety of topics, all related one way or the other to that damned "☉" symbol, testing your knowledge against that of others in a battle for a special prize...
Join us on Monday the 20th of April for a fun quiz with brain-breaking, silly, and interesting questions, of course while enjoy a variety of snacks and drinks in Lipsius. See you there!

Irish movie night: Poitín

Description
Poitín is an alcoholic drink from Ireland that was commonly illegally brewed. It is also the name of the first feature-length movie made entirely in Irish Gaelic! Join us on Tuesday the 21st of April at 17:00 in Lipsius (Room 1.21) to watch this classic 1978 crime-drama about a man brewing this illegal drink and the two men that torment him.

Though the board may appear harmonious when seen from outside, within much conflict is brewing: jealousy, scandals, rivalries and bitter grudges have taken hold of this board, and rumor has it something terrible will occur this fateful evening...
